Recycling Waste Paver Blocks in the Manufacture of New Concrete Paver Blocks and Building Bricks

This study investigates the feasibility of recycling various waste paving blocks as raw materials for concrete. The rate in Korea remains around 11%. Therefore, three types blocks, i.e., recycled clay-, granite-, and concrete block, were used partial replacements sand a mixture at 10%, 20%, 30% replacement ratios. According to Korean standards pavers building bricks, compressive strength, flexural water absorption tests conducted. In addition, UPV unit weight performed. results showed that performance mixtures decreased with increasing ratio clay concrete, while addition granite improved properties mixtures. All prepared met requirements specified standards, demonstrating incorporating can be bricks under limited conditions.
